Bunker Hills Stables
Just twenty minutes north of the Twin Cities you can have an afternoon your kids will be talking about for YEARS. Bunker Park Stable is located in Andover, Minnesota and offers experiences for all ages.
Pony Rides (25 mins)
For kids 2-7 years old.
The small loop has lots of hidden treasures to look at to keep it fresh!
I also hear they sometimes do unicorn rides in the fall…
My daughter went when she was three and she absolutely loved it. While shy at first, she was looking at the big horses about one loop in.
Trail Rides (60mins)
8 years old and up.
Walking only, guided trail ride.
Hay/Sleigh Rides
Check them out in the fall and winter for an extra memorable experience. You can skip the crowds at the pumpkin patch and reserve an intimate ride with family and friends.
Enjoy a sleigh ride with cocoa as a fun change of pace from driving around looking at lights in the car.
Whether you have a little horse lover in the family or not this was a really affordable over the top activity for kids.
Wanna make a day of it? Here’s what we recommend around the Andover area.
Breakfast: Make a stop at the Krown Bakery & Eatery for the best pastries. For those with gluten sensitivities, they also have a sweet selection of goodies for you too!
Lunch/Dinner: If you’re not going to have a picnic at the Bunker Hills Regional Park (which we totally recommend) then stop in at Margie’s Kitchen for some top notch food. (We also hear the food at Krown Bakery & Eatery is good too!)
Coffee: If you’re looking for a non-chain coffee shop, head over to Truffles and Tortes and we dare you to resist a fancy dessert to go with your delicious cup of Joseph (too sophisticated to call it a cup of Joe…)
Play: The only real suggestion here is to just stay at Bunker Hills Regional Park. There are multiple playgrounds sprinkled throughout the park, and some great paths for walking or biking.
